installation of a Built -up roof system consisting of
an Eagle Glass Base Sheet, three (3) piles of an
Eagle Glass Ply Sheet surfaced with Gravel or
Slag set in a flood coat of hot asphalt . The roof
system is designed to be applied over nailable
deck/substrates.

9" (23 cm) o.c. along lap edge; second row 18" (46
cm) o.c. from lap edge 12" (31 cm) o.c.; third row
18" (46 cm) o.c., 24" (61 cm) from lap edge and
staggered from the second row. Refer to Section
3, Part 5, Fastener Selection Chart for the type of
fastener and Section 3, Part 7, Items 7.02 and
7.03.
C. Eagle Ply Sheets: Install three (3) plies of
specified ply sheet over the insulation. Install 12,
24 and 36" (31, 61, 91 cm) width starter plies, and
continue with full 36" (91 cm) width plies, applied
shingle style. Lap ply sheets 242/4" (63 cm) at
sides and 4" (10 cm) at ends. Stagger end laps a
minimum 12" (31 cm) apart. Install the ply sheets
in full and uniform moppings of hot and fluid
asphalt applied at the rate of 25 lb /square
(1.2 kg /m2). Refer to Section 3, Part 7, Item 7.04.

IV): Apply asphalt emulsion over the ply sheet in
a continuous and uniform coating at a minimum
rate of 3 gal /square (1.2 Um2);
3. Aluminum Coating (ASTM D 2824, Type III):
apply aluminum coating over the ply sheets in a
continuous and uniform coating at a minimum rate
of 11/2 gal /square (0.6 Um2). Refer to Section 3,
Part 7, Item 7.06.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 GENERAL INSTALLATION REQUIRE-
MENTS: Refer to Section 3.
3.02 MEMBRANE INSTALLATION:
A. General: Refer to Section 3, Part 7.
B.Install one (1) ply of specified base sheet over
substrate. Lap base sheet 2" (50 mm) at sides and
4" (100 mm) at end laps. Mechanically fasten
base sheet with three rows of fasteners. First row
9" (23 cm) o.c. along lap edge; second row 18" (46
cm) o.c. from lap edge 12" (31 cm) o.c.; third row
18" (46 cm) o.c., 24" (61 cm) from lap edge and
staggered from the second row, Refer to Section
3, Part 5, Fastener Selection Chart for the type of
fastener and Section 3, Part 7, Items 7.02 and
7.03,
C. Eagle Ply Sheets: Install three (3) plies of
specified ply sheet over the insulation. Install 12,
24 and 36" (31, 61, 91 cm) width starter plies, and
continue with full 36" (91 cm) width plies, applied
shingle style. Lap ply sheets 243/4" (63 cm) at
sides and 4" (10 cm) at ends. Stagger end laps a
minimum 12" (31 cm) apart. install the ply sheets
in full and uniform moppings of hot and fluid
asphalt applied at the rate of 25 lb /square
(1.2 kg/m2). Refer to Section 3, Part 7, Item 7.04.
D.Surfacing - Gravel and Asphalt: Embed not
less than 400 lb /square (20 kg /m') of gravel
(300 Ib slag (15 kg /m')] into 60 lb /square (3kglm2)
of hot asphalt/square. Refer to Section 3, Part 7,
item 7.06.6.
3,03 FLASHING AND STRIP - INSTALLATION:
Referto Section 3, Part 8 and to the flashing detail
schematics in Section 5.
3.04 ROOFING RELATED SHEET METAL AND
ACCESSORY INSTALLATION: Referto Section

rate of 15 - 25 lb /square (0.8 to 1.2 kg /m'), type
determined by slope;
2. Asphalt Emulsion (ASTM D 1227, Type II or
IV): Apply asphalt emulsion over the ply sheet in
a continuous and uniform coating at a minimum
rate of 3 gal /square (1.2 Um');
3. Aluminum Coating (ASTM D 2824, Type III):
apply aluminum coating over the ply sheets in a
continuous and uniform coating at a minimum rate
of 1' /z gallsquare (0.6 Um'). Refer to Section 3,
Part 7, Item 7.06.
3.04 FLASHING AND STRIP - INSTALLATION:
Refer to Section 3, Part 8 and to the flashing detail
schematics in Section 5.

Dear Mr Richart:
In reviewing our current permit files, it appears that your permit for a re -roof, issued on June 25,
1999, has not received a final inspection as of the date of this letter by the City of Tukwila
Building Division.
Per the Uniform Building Code and /or Uniform Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the
building official under the provision of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and
void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from
the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or
abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, if a final inspection is not called for within ten (10) business days from the
date of this letter, the Permit Center will close your file and the work completed to date will be
considered non - complying and not in conformance with the Uniform Building Code and /or
Mechanical Code.
