AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA FIXING THE BUDGET FOR
THE YEhR 1961 FOR THE PAYMENT OF CURRENT MUNICIPAL EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, the town Council of the Town of Tukwila, King County,
Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the lath day of
September, 1960, made the following estimates of the expenditures
and receipts from all sources other than taxation upon the real
and personal property of the said Town of Tukwila, for the ensuing
year of 1961.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TO'W`N COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TUKWILA
SECTION 1. That, for the purpose of raising funds with which
to pay the expenditures as above enumerated, for the ensuing year
of 1961, there shall be certified to the County Assessor of King
County, Washington, the sum of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED
FIFTY -SIX and sixty three one hundredths DOLLARS (27,856.63) as the
amount to be raised by general taxation upon the real abd personal
property embraced within the corporate limits of the town of Tukwila,
as shown by the assessment rolls of King County for the year 1960.
SECTION 2. During the past four years the Town of Tukwila las
made many annexations, some of which have included additional miles
of the 1)uwamish -Green river, also numerous drainage canals and
ditches that are not a part of the street drainage system.
A major portion of our supervision, labor, town equipment, etc,
has been used for river improvement and drainage, althovgh no
previous provision had been made in our current expense for these
costs. It has therefore created an unnecessary drain from funds
set aside for street and water department operation.
Items have been included in this year's budget for the Current
Expense Fund to contribute toward the purchase of equipment,
equipment operation expense and a more proportionate amount of
labor and supervision necessary.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in fLll force and effect
from and aft .r its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law.
PASSED THE TOWN COUNCIL And APPROVED BY THE MAYOR this 3rd day
of October, 1960.
