NOTICE OF APPLICATION
PROJECT INFORMATION
Qwest Communications, Inc. has applied to construct a temporary overhead fiber optic
cable that will cross the Green River Trail, Green River, and West Valley Highway.
The temporary aerial crossing is proposed to remain in place for three years and is due to
the potential flooding from the Green River and is related to the dysfunction of the Howard
Hansen Dam. The temporary overhead crossing consists of approximately 425 feet of new
buried conduit starting at Sperry Drive in Tukwila and a 325 foot long single span aerial
crossing of the trail, river and highway. The eastern 70 feet of the aerial span and a utility
pole is in the City of Kent Shoreline Environment (18123 72 Ave. S.) The remainder is
within the City of Tukwila.
Permits applied for include: Tukwila SEPA Decision (E11-005);
Tukwila Shoreline Substantial Development Permit
(L11-031);
Other known required permits include: Tukwila PW11-050; Kent #SMA- 2011 -3; Kent
KIVA #RPSP 2111251
Studies required with the applications include: Sensitive Area Study

The application is available for review at the City of Tukwila, Department of Community
Development (DCD), located at 6300 Southcenter Bled #100.
OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Your written comments on the project are requested. They must be delivered to DCD at
the address above or postmarked no later than 5:00 P.M., July 6, 2011.
