PROPOSALS
The objectives and the alternative means of reaching the
objectives for a proposal will be helpful in reviewing the
aforegoing items of the Environmental Checklist. This
information provides a general overall perspective of the
proposed action in the context of the environmental infor-
mation provided and the submitted plans, documents, suppor-
tive information, studies, etc.
1. What are the objective(s) of the proposal?
To provide at least a minimum safe roadway width
and a sidewalk on one side for safer pedestrian
access. Also curb and gutters to reduce dangers
of erosion and soil saturation.
2. What are the alternative means of accomplishing these
objectives?
wider lanes and two sidewalks.
Evaluation for
Agency Use Only
3. Please compare the alternative means and indicate the
preferred course of action:
The alternative would require right-of-way acqui-
sition, additional sidewalk, and considerable
disruption to the abutting properties resulting
in excessive expenditure of public funds. The
preferred course of action is to construct a two lane
.<
roadway with curb and gutter, sidewalk on one side,
all within the existing right -of -way.
