Storm Drainage Permit (Permit fee: $25.00) No construction or regrading shall encroach to the landward tow of the levee. It is affirmed that we use the FWVWA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Flood Insurance Rate Maps to determine if projects are in the flood plain in Tukwila. Since this project is not encroaching the landward toe of the levee (per revised drawings, received 2 -2 -87) the site lies outside the 100 year flood plain as shown on the FEMA maps. Therefore, no state flood control zone permit is required. Sincerely, Janet Jorg Resource Management JJ:cd cc: King Co. Water Quality Metro has designated the Green River as a major water of regional concern. The protection of its water quality is a high priority. Because the project is adjacent to the river, there is a potential for adverse environmental impact during the construction and /or the operation stage. We strongly encourage the City of Tukwila to require the proponents to incorporate mitigating measures as part of their expansion plans. Mitigating measures should include but are not limited to: - Oil /water separators and grassed swales to prevent pollutants from paved areas entering the river; maintenance of adequate setback and riparian vegetation; - temporary erosion and sedimentation control facilities during the construction stage; - ensuring that any toxic chemicals oils, petrochemicals and other potential pollutants being handled at the laboratory do not enter the surface waters; and [NOV 0 3 1986 CITY OF TUkW =.A PLANNING DEPT. °lt CSIHNf® • 0 Rick Beeler October 31, 1986 Page Two - regular maintenance of permanent storm water control facilities to ensure their long term effectiveness.
