The Lake to Sound Trail project will provide a O 16 -mile biking and walking trail, linking the i shoreline of Lake Washington in Renton to the shoreline of Puget Sound in Des Moines. The Lake to Sound Trail will connect five ;4 cities (Renton, Tukwila, SeaTac, Burien, fi and Des Moines) and four major trails (the hryV i c Cedar River, Green River, Westside and Des Moines Creek trails). The Lake to Sound Trail project is a joint partnership between King County and the cities of Renton, Tukwila, SeaTac, Burien, and Des Moines. Where will we start? King County has funding to design two critical segments of the trail: Segment A (Renton to Tukwila) Segment B Memorial Drive This 1.06 mile segment will connect Naches (SeaTac to Burien) Avenue in Renton with Fort Dent Park and the A 1.45 mile segment along S IS6th St. Green River Trail in Tukwila via a scenic "forest Des Moines Memorial Drive trail" segment that passes along the northern from S. 156th Street (City of boundary of the Black River Riparian Forest. SeaTac) to S. Normandy Road S 160th St. (City of Burien). At the completion of 30% design, the partner agencies will issue an environmental determination. King County anticipates a determination of findings for Segment B in April 2011, and a determination of findings for Segment A in July 2011. We want to hear from you. The current phase of this project (Design and Environmental Review) for segments A and B is funded through the voter approved King County Parks Expansion Levy and a federal grant. Learn about the project Meet the project team Review preliminary design King County and the Cities of Renton and Tukwila are working together to design a 1 -mile segment of the Lake to Sound Trail. The trail will connect Naches Avenue in Renton with Fort Dent Park and the Green River Trail in Tukwila via a scenic "forest trail °segment that passes along the northern boundary of the Black River Riparian Forest.
