Date X Attachment to Section (13) Transportation /Circulation Project will generate 37 truck trips a day (each way) plus about 15 local dealer trips. Trucks are loaded the previous day and depart beginning at 6:00 A.M. minimizing commuter traffic onflict. The Valley Freeway or West Valley Highway will normally be used. As this facility consolidates several existing sites about 75% of the traffic is already using the major traffic corridors including rail mainline. The amount of highway traffic generated per site acre is relatively low compared to other industrial park users, such as Superior Fast Freight. The rail traffic into the site crosses no streets at this time and in the future would cross only the proposed 36' access . street at the south end of the site. We submit the following justification for issuance of the special permit for the above facility: 1. The site is presently zoned N -1, the heaviest industrial zone available to Burlington Northern in Renton, Washington. The area and configuration of the site are sufficient for efficient layout of the facility. 3. The location allows rail service that crosses no streets at present and in the future might cross a single 36' local access street. 4. The truck traffic can reach the Valley Freeway or West Valley Highway quickly via Southwest 41st or Southwest 43rd. The bulk of the outgoing traffic begins at 6:00 a.m. prior to heavy commuter travel. A significant portion of the truck traffic already uses the major traffic corridors to other sites. 5. The actual impact of the facility per acre, including traffic generation, is consistent with the adjacent manufacturing park uses. 6. The site is easily screened from Oaksdale Avenue Southwest and future streets as all buildings are low and storage is for small vehicles. Signature andYitle Date X Attachment to Section (13) Transportation /Circulation Project will generate 37 truck trips a day (each way) plus about 15 local dealer trips. The rail traffic into the site crosses no streets at this time and in the future would cross only the proposed 36' access street at the south end of the site. BURUNGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DEPARTNSENT City of Renton Building and Zoning Dept. 200 Mill Avenue Renton, WA 98055 Gentlemen: Room 720 Central B..ilding Seattle, Washington 98104 Telephone (206) 625 -6682 July 1S, 1983 Re: Auto unloading facility - Burlington Northern Orillia Industrial Park, Oaksdale Avenue Southwest site. We submit the following justification for issuance of the special permit for the above facility: 1. The site is presently zoned it -1, the heaviest industrial zone available to Burlington Northern in Renton, Washington. '. S. The actual impact of the facility per acre, including traffic generation, is consistent with the adjacent manufacturing park uses. 6. The site is easily screened from Oaksdale Avenue Southwest and future streets as all buildings are low and storage is for small vehicles. We request your approval of the special permit at the earliest possible time. Sincerely, D. A.
