PERMIT CONDITIONS:

2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431- 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
6: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206- 431- 3670).

7: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or g ng of a permit shall not be construed to be mit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the ding code or of any other ordinances of the of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.
8: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * **
9: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
10: Maintain sprinkler coverage per N.F.P.A. 13. Addition/relocation of walls, closets or partitions may require relocating
and/or adding sprinkler heads. (IFC 901.4)
11: Sprinklers shall be installed under fixed obstructions over 4 feet (1.2 m) wide such as ducts, decks, open grate
flooring, cutting tables, shelves and overhead doors. (NFPA 13- 8.6.5.3.3)
12: All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department review and
approval of drawings prior to installation or modification. New sprinkler systems and all modifications to sprinkler
systems involving more than 50 heads shall have the written approval of Factory Mutual or any fire protection engineer
licensed by the State of Washington and approved by the Fire Marshal prior to submittal to the Tukwila Fire Prevention
Bureau. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. (City Ordinance No. 2327).
13: A fire alarm system is required for this project. The fire alarm system shall meet the requirements of N.F.P.A. 72 and
City Ordinance #2051. (ALL FIRE ALARM COMPONENTS TO BE TIED TO THE MAIN MALL FIRE ALARM PANEL.)
14: Maintain fire alarm system audible /visual notification. Addition/relocation of walls or partitions may require
relocation and /or addition of audible /visual notification devices. (City Ordinance #2328)
15: All new fire alarm systems or modifications to existing systems shall have the written approval of The Tukwila Fire
Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence until a fire department permit has been obtained. (City Ordinance #2328) (IFC
104.2)
16: An electrical permit from the City of Tukwila Building Department Permit Center (206- 431 -3670) is required for this
project.
17: The maximum flame spread class of finish materials used on interior walls and ceilings shall not exceed that set forth
in Table No. 803.5 of the International Building Code.
18: Post address on storefront per approved Westfield standards.
19: Contact The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau to witness all required inspections and tests. (City Ordinances #2327 and
#2328)
20: Any overlooked hazardous condition and /or violation of the adopted Fire or Building Codes does not imply approval of

Expiration of Plan Review — Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation.

18. REQUIRED EXITS, WAYS OF APPROACH THERETO, AND WAYS OF TRAVEL
FROM THE EXIT INTO THE STREET SHALL CONTINUOUSLY BE MAINTAINED FREE
FROM ALL OBSTRUCTIONS AND IMPEDIMENTS FOR EGRESS IN CASE OF FIRE

AND PUNCH LIST ITEMS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
SUBMIT MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY MANUALS, RELEASE OF LIENS, AND

PAYMENT. WESTFIELD SHALL PREPARE ANY NECESSARY CHANGE ORDERS

23. MANUFACTURER'S NAME, TRADEMARK, LOGOS, ETC., SHALL NOT BE VISIBLE
TO THE PUBLIC.
24. WESTFIELD, WITHOUT INVALIDATING THE CONTRACT, MAY ORDER EXTRA WORK
OR MAKE CHANGES BY ALTERING, ADDING TO, OR DEDUCTING FROM THE
WORK THE CONTRACT SUM AND CLAIMS FOR EXTENSION OF TIME 514ALL BE
ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY. SUCH WORK SHALL BE OTHERWISE EXECUTED

We are writing as a follow up to our conversation regarding the requirement for wood trim that is
currently indicated on the elevations for the above referenced project.
In accordance to 2009 IBC section 402.8, Interior finishes within a mall shall have a flame spread index
and smoke - developed index of Class B rating in accordance with ASTM E 84 or UL 723.
Class B rating: Flame spread index 26 -75 and smoke - developed index 0 -450.
Accordance to ASTM E 84 Western (West Coast) Hemlock has a Class B rating with a flame spread
index of 60 -75, therefore acceptable.
In summary, all wood trim indicated on the above referenced project shall be Western (West Coast)
Hemlock.
