HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0306 - South 158th / 51st Avenue South AnnexationORDINANCE NO. 306 AMENDED BY ORD 309 AND ORD 312 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA, ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE TOWN OF TUKWILA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 128 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON FOR 1945. WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 a petition in writing asking for the annexation of certain property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila hereinafter more particularly described has been filed with the Town Council, signed by the owners of not less than 75o in value, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation, of the property for which annex- ation is petitioned, which petition sets forth a legal description of the property and was accompanied by plat or drawing, outlining the boundaries of the property sought to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the Town Council has heretofore fixed July 5, 1960, at the hour of 8 :00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Town Hall, Tukwila, Washington, as the time and place for Public Hear- ing upon such petition, and a copy of said iotice was published in the Renton Chrohicle, a legal newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Tukwila, and was posted in three public places within the territory proposed for annexation, which notices specified the time and place of such Hearing and invited interested persons to appear and voice approval or disapproval of the annexation, and WHEREAS, at the time and place set for said Hearing, the Council approved the petition for annexation and set midnight, July .10,, 1960, as the effective date of the annexation. Now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of Tukwila, as follows: SECTION 1. That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 128 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 the following described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, to -wit: Portions of Sections 22, 26 and 27 in Township 23 N, Range 4, E.W.M., described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the North line of South 158th Street with the Westerly line of 51st Avenue South; thence Westerly along said North line 627.71' to the Westerly line of E2 of SEg of SE* of Section 22; thence Southerly along said Westerly line to the Southerly line of South 160th Street; thenc Easterly along said Southerly line to a point in said Southerly line which is N 89 W 128.4' and S 0 E 30' from NE corner of Section 27; thence S 0 E 145.20'; thence S 89 E 162.97' to Westerly line of 51st Avenue South; thenc Southerly along said Westerly line of 51st Avenue South to a point 800 feet North of Southeast Section 27; thence East along the Easterly production of said south line to a point 800 feet north of SW Section 26 of the Westerly limits of the Town of Tukwila; thence Northerly, following the present Westerly Limits of the Town of Tukwila, ordinance No. 247, to the Northerly line of the NW* of Section 26; thence Westerly along said Northerly line to NW corner of said NW**; thence North along the East line of Section 22 to a point 30' East of point of beginning_; thence West 30 to the point of beginning; shall be and the same hereby is annexed to the Town of Tukwila. SECTION 11. The said annexation shall be effectiveon and after midnight July, 9, 1960 and from and after said date property shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the Town of Tukwila then and thereafter in force. SECTION 111. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law. PASSED this 5th day of July 1960. Lois T. Baker, Mayor TO THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA, TUKWILA, WASHINGTON: We, the undersigned, owners of not less than 75% in value, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation, of the following described property, which is hereinafter more particularly described and a plat of which is hereto attached, showing the bound- aries of the property souhgt to be annexed, do hereby petition your honorable body for annexation to the Town of Tukwila of the follow- ing described property, to -wit: Portions of Sections 22, 26 and 27 in Township 23 N, Range 4 E.W.M., described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the North line of 6 outh 158th Street with the Westerly line of 51st Avenue South; thence Westerly along said North line 627.71' to the Westerly line of E* of SE4 of SE* of Section 22; thence 6 outherly along said Westerly line to the Southerly line of South 160th Street; thence Easterly along said Southerly line to a point in said Southerly line which is N 39 W )23.4 and S 0°15 E 30' from NE corner of Section 27; thence S 0 E 145.20'; thence S 89 °59 E 162.97' to Westerly line of 51st Avenue South; thence Southerly along said Westerly line of 51st Avenue South to a point 000 feet North of Southeast Section 27; thence last along the Easterly production of said south line to a point 300 feet north of SW Section 26 of the Westerly limits of the Town of Tukwila; thence Northerly, following the present Westerly limits of the Town of Tukwila, ordinance No. 247, to the Northerly line of the NW* of Section 26; thence Westerly along said Northerly line to NW corner of said NWT; thence North along the East line of Section 22 to a point 30' mast of point of beginning; thence West 30' to the point of beginning, which area is contiguous to the Town of Tukwila.
