These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is granted. 4: Insulating materials, where exposed as installed in buildings of any type of construction, shall have a flame spread index of not more than 25 and a smoke development index of not more than 450. These devices shall be separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2328) 12: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the air- moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return -air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. OPERATION 1 THIS UNIT IS TO BE A VARIABLE VOLUME SYSTEM EQUIPPED WITH VARIABLE VOLUME SUPPLY FAN WITH VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE, RETURN / EXHAUST FAN WITH VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE, FILTERS, DX COOLING COIL, VENTILATION, ECONOMIZER AND RETURN AIR DAMPERS. 2 THE PACKAGED AIR HANDLING SYSTEM SHALL BE FURNISHED WITH A COMPLETE, FACTORY - INSTALLED, DDC CONTROL SYSTEM BASED ON AN OPEN PROTOCOL TO BE SELECTED BY THE ENGINEER. B. OCCIIPED CYCLE 1 FAN START /STOP: ON COMMAND FROM THE FACTORY CONTROLER, SYSTEM STARTUP SEQUENCE SHALL BE INmATED, THE RETURN DAMPER SHALL BE FULLY OPEN, VENTILATION, ECONOMIZER AND RELIEF DAMPERS CLOSED, THE SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS SHALL START, RAMPING UP TO SETPOINT AS PROGRAMMED BY THEIR VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE CONTROL.. START SHALL BE BASED ON OPTIMAL START CALCULATION BY THE FACTORY CONTROLLER. 2 SUPPLY FAN SPEED CONTROL: THE EMCS SHALL VARY THE SPEED OF THE SUPPLY FAN VFD TO MAINTAIN SUPPLY DUCT STATIC PRESSURE AS SENSED BY A DIFFERENTIAL SENSOR AS LOCATED 2/3 DOWN SUPPLY DUCTWORK THE DDC SYSTEM SHALL RESET DUCT STATIC PRESSURE IN A RANGE OF 0.5" TO 1.0" TO ASSURE THAT NO TERMINAL PRIMARY AIR DAMPER EXCEEDS A 95% OPEN POSmON. 3 RETURN / EXHAUST FAN SPEED CONTROL: THE DDC SYSTEM SHALL VARY THE SPEED OF THE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE TO MAINTAIN A SPACE STATIC PRESSURE OF (+ .05" WG) ABOVE FACTORY. 4 VENTILATION AIR DAMPER CONTROL: ON FAN START, VENTILATION AIR DAMPER SHALL OPEN TO ADMIT THE DESIGN VENTILATION AIRFLOW AS SCHEDULED ON THE AIR HANDLING UNIT SCHEDULE. OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER SHALL BE CLOSED DURING UNOCCUPIED HOURS. 5 MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROL: THE MINIMUM MIXED AIR SETPOINT SHALL BE 55 DEGREES F (ADJUSTABLE). 6 ECONOMIZER OPERATION: WHEN THE OUTDOOR AIR TEMPERTURE IS BELOW RETURN AIR TEMPERATURE, THE ECONOMIZER DAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO MAINTAIN THE DESIGN MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT. ON RISE IN OUTDOOR AIR TEMPERATURE ABOVE RETURN TEMPERATURE, THE ECONOMIZER DAMPER SHALL CLOSE. 7 DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS: THE DETECTORS, PROVIDED BY THE DMSION 16 CONTRACTOR, SHALL BE WIRED TO THE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE INPUTS TO STOP BOTH THE SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS WHEN TRIPPED. ON FAN STOP VENTILATION, ECONOMIZER, OUTDOOR AIR AND EXHAUST DAMPERS SHALL RETURN TO NORMAL POSmONS. 8 HIGH STATIC PRESSURE LIMIT: PROVIDE A SENSOR IN THE DISCHARGE PLENUM TO STOP SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS AND RETURN DAMPERS TO NORMAL POSITIONS WHEN THE SETPOINT OF 4.0" (ADJUSTABLE) IS EXCEEDED. 9 FIRE ALARM SIGNAL: ON RECEIPT OF A FIRE ALARM FROM THE DIVISION 16 CONTRACTOR'S SYSTEM, THE SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS SHALL STOP, DAMPERS SHALL RETURN TO NORMAL POSITIONS. 10 SUPPLY FAN VFD FAILURE: ON FAILURE OF THE SUPPLY FAN VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE, THE UNIT SHALL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH TO BYPASS MODE AND RUN AT FULL SPEED (60 HZ). 11 RETURN FAN VFD FAILURE: ON FAILURE OF THE RETURN FAN VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE, THE FAILED FAN SHALL STOP. C. UNOCCUPIED MODE 1 IN THE UNOCCUPIED MODE, WHEN SCHEDULED BY THE DDC SYSTEM, BOTH THE SUPPLY AND RETURN FANS SHALL BE OFF AND DAMPERS IN NORMAL POSmONS. UNOCCUPIED SPACE HEATING SETPOINT SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT 65 DEGREES F (ADJUSTABLE) BY THE SYSTEM'S ASSOCIATED FAN TERMINAL UNITS AND THEIR HEATING COILS. 2 WARMUP /COOLDOWN: ON A SWITCH TO THE OCCUPIED CYCLE, AS DETERMINED BY THE EMCS, THE WARMUP CYCLE SHALL BE INITIATED. THE SUPPLY FANS SHALL BE STARTED AND DAMPERS SHALL BE POSMONED TO PROVIDE A 100% RECIRCULATION MODE AND THE OSA VENTILATION DAMPER SHALL BE CLOSED. HEATING COILS IN INDMDUAL FAN TERMINALS SHALL BE ENERGIZED UNTIL THE INDIVIDUAL SPACES REACH OCCUPIED SPACE TEMPERATURE SETPOINT OF 70 DEGREES F. ON A RISE IN THE AIR HANDLING UNIT RETURN AIR TEMPERATURE TO 70 DEGREES, THE UNIT SHALL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH TO THE OCCUPIED MODE, ENABLING THE EXHAUST FAN SEQUENCE AND IMPLEMENTING DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROL AS WELL AS OPENING THE VENTILATION DAMPER. WARM WEATHER COOLDOWN MODE: UNIT SHALL START IN NORMAL MODE, OPENING VENTILATION AND SEQUENCING ECONOMIZER DAMPERS AS REQUIRED TO REACH DESIGN SPACE TEMPERATURE. 3 UNOCCUPIED THERMOSTAT OVER -RIDE: UPON AN OCCUPANT PRESSING THE UNOCCUPIED OVER -RIDE SWITCH ON THE LOCAL THERMOSTAT, IN THE HEATING MODE THE LOCAL FAN TERMINAL SHALL CYCLE TO MAINTAIN THE OCCUPIED DAYTIME TEMPERATURE.
