TO: CITY COUNCIL
FROM: MAYOR EKBERG

SUBJECT: NEW APPOINTMENT AND REAPPOINTMENTS TO THE ARTS COMMISSION
AND REAPPOINTMENTS TO THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD

There are several Boards and Commissions positions terms that expire December 31, 2016. 1 am
recommending reappointment of the following:
Arts Commission
Position#3: Steve Mullet currently serves in position 3 on the Arts Commission. His term expires
December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending he be reappointed to this position. His new
term will expire December 31, 2020.
Position #4 Trisha Gilmore currently serves in position 4 on the Arts Commission. Her term
expires December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending she be reappointed to this position.
Her new term will expire December 31, 2020.
Position #5 Cynthia Chesak currently serves in position 5 on the Arts Commission. Her term
expires December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending she be reappointed to this position.
Her new term will expire December 31, 2020.
Position #7 This position is currently vacant. I have attached the application of Alexander Villella.
Alex is a Tukwila resident that has interest and experience in theater, music and the
visual arts. He is excited to give back to the community by serving on the Arts
Commission and would like to ensure that Art continues to be a backbone of the
Tukwila community. I am recommending he be appointed to Position #7. The term for
this position will expire on December 31, 2017.
Library'Advisory Board
Position #1: Scott Kruize currently serves in position 1 on the Library Advisory Board. His term
expires December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending he be reappointed to this position.
His new term will expire December 31, 2018.
Position #2: Steve Miller currently serves in position 2 on the Library Advisory Board. His term
expires December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending he be reappointed to this position.
His new term will expire December 31, 2018.
Position #4: Geraldine Ventura currently serves in position 4 on the Library Advisory Board. Her
term expires December 31, 2016. 1 am recommending she be reappointed to this
position. Her new term will expire December 31, 2018.
RECOMMENDATION
I am recommending the appointment and reappointments listed above be confirmed by Council at
the January 3, 2017 Council Meeting.
