Listening Session Summary Ron Johnston McMicken Thanks Public Works for effective department communication (one -stop) and quick response to tree cleanup following recent electrical worku . Marie Parrish Thorndyke Parking at light rail station remains unavailable. Will Angle Lake Station opening ease the impact or will Tukwila residents have to go there? Sound Transit should strive to encourage users to move to the new station. Asks City to continue advocacy for residents. Pam Carter Upper Foster Feels limited parking deters use of light rail. Waiting for a bus in downtown Seattle at night feels unsafe, and so does walking back home from Tukwila station. Suggests diagonal "zebra" striping at train crossings to deter cars from entering intersection. Barbara Riverton Thanks City for all of the work on TIB. Feels code enforcement Bader is nonexistent in Riverton /Cascade. Neighborhood is visible from light rail and represents the City to those aboard. Specialized bus shelters take a long time to repair, suggests using the white patterned glass seen at other shelters. Feels influx of low income residents marginalizes all. Karen Wendt Allentown Littering and illegal dumping is getting worse. Suggests programs for youth to assist with cleanup. Ken Quimby Tukwila Thanks Council for their time and efforts. Construction noise on South corner of 200th and Orillia has been going until 2 -3 in the morning. PD non - emergency line responder stated it was private property and allowed. Permit has since been applied for —will submit a letter of concern to DCD. City Council Town Hall June 4, 2015 - Pape 2 Mark Wendt Allentown Thanks City for work on TIB hotels. A lot of drug activity at Taco Bell bus stop. Drug activity at residences in Allentown is ongoing. Thanks PD for presence in neighborhood. Hyojin Allentown Suggests smaller residential lot size to attract new residents. Whitford Mark Wendt Allentown BNSF parking lot heavily used and vibration impacts ongoing. Hasn't heard from City in some time regarding ingress /egress alternate. Brooke Alford Allentown Has not seen progress on BNSF mitigation analysis, would like an update from the City on livability impacts and mitigation. Will share with neighborhood listserv. Appreciated Allentown meeting but unsure of the intent of the survey and outreach post-meeting. Pam Carter Upper Foster Would like City to pursue regulating odor nuisances, including ability to address marijuana grown in multifamily housing. Marie Parrish Thorndyke Asked how residents can give input into Comp Plan other than specific public meeting dates. Answered Ron Johnston McMicken Asks City to stay focused on code enforcement and staff dept. adequately. Marijuana grow houses are multiplying and creating issues in neighborhoods. Sharon Mann McMicken Concern that City is waiting for state law to change before acting on marijuana regulations. Kent is an example of what can be done. Grow operations have multiplied since moratorium in place. City should have an in -house attorney who can respond quickly. Chuck Parrish Thorndyke Supportive of current City Attorney contract and services provided - diverse experience in firm is an asset. Guest Speaker Mike Lydon, Principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, and author of "Tactical Urbanism," gave a presentation titled "Tactical Urbanism: Short -Term Action for Long -Term Change."
