Meeting Minutes

CALL TO ORDER: Chair Seal called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

A. 2017 Committee Work Plan
The Committee reviewed and discussed a draft work plan for the year ahead. The
Compensation Policy review is expected to be time consuming and span multiple meetings.
Pursuant to City of Tukwila Financial Policy GF-5, the Finance Department will be reporting
monthly on departmental financial results, but existing quarterly financial reporting will
continue. The Committee will be asked for input into the format of the Technology&Innovation
Services Department quarterly reporting requested by Council during the budget process.
Councilmember McLeod asked that the 2019-2020 Budget process discussion include
evaluation of participatory and incentive budgeting philosophies. He also requested that the
Committee make time to discuss financing of human services for the next biennium.
The Committee recommended extending the application deadline for appointments to the
Public Safety Financial Oversight Committee. Chair Seal will request Council consensus to
extend it through February 28,2017.
