HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-03-15 - Call for Bids - Boeing Access Road Bridge RehabilitationCITY OF TUKWILA CALL FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Tukwila, Washington at the Office of the City Clerk, in Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, Washington 98188, up to the hour of 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 for: BOEING ACCESS ROAD BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT NO. 99410408 FEDERAL AID NO. BHM- 1380(003) The Work to be performed within 285 working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for: Construction of approximately 954 linear feet of street improvements within the right -of -way of Boeing Access Road, including but not limited to, Bridge Deck Repair and Overlay, Sidewalk Widening, Girders Rehabilitation, Bridge Seismic Retrofit and Compaction Grouting, and other work necessary to complete the Work as specified and shown in the Contract Documents. Each bid shall be in accordance with the bid documents available free of charge on -line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http: / /www.bxwa.com. Click on: "bxwa.com ", "Posted Projects "; Public Works "; "City of Tukwila ", and "Project Bidding ". Bidders are encouraged to "Register as a Bidder" in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of addenda and to be placed on the "Bidders List ". This service is provided free of charge to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors and Vendors bidding this project. Informational copies of any available maps, plans, specifications, and subsurface information are on file for inspection in the office of the Tukwila City Engineer, at the Public Works Department. All bid proposals shall be submitted according to the Information for Bidders and be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond made payable to the City of Tukwila, for a sum not less than five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit/bond shall be forfeited to the City of Tukwila. The City of Tukwila in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000 -4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally- Assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The City of Tukwila hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding and make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
