Bob Euler, 15220 40th Ave. So., shared his experience as a
victim of a hit and run incident at his home three weeks ago. Mr.
Euler explained that an unknown person drove into his driveway,
hit the post of his carport, causing it to be pulled away from the
house, then drove away. Mrs. Euler got the license number of the
car as it left the scene. The police were contacted and the proper
reports were filed. Euler complains that no investigation has been
done to date and that he was told his case would not come up for
six months. Euler questions why it should take so long for the
police to get to his case.
Mayor Rants responded that calls for police response are currently
averaging about 39,000 per year. Manpower continues to be
increased, but there is still not enough personnel to quickly handle
so many requests for service. Chief of Police Ron Waldner
explained that there is only one officer in charge of accident
investigation at the present time. If another situation arises that
involves serious bodily injury, all cases are re- prioritized. Council
President Carter suggested police administration take a look at
increasing efficiencies in their procedures.

suggested a note of appreciation be sent to the band director and

Hernandez' enthusiasm for the band. Carter said citizens are

the highway when the project is completed and hosting a block
party to celebrate.
Councilmember Haggerton noted there are many who share Mr.
Euler's frustrations regarding police services. Haggerton told

came from the miscellaneous comments they've received from

satisfied until this situation is resolved.
