Approval of Agenda- The agenda was approved by a 4 -0 vote. Approval of Minutes — Minutes of the October 21, 2016 and December 5, 2016 meetings were approved by a 4 -0 vote. Introduction of New City Employee — Business Relations Manager Brandon Miles introduced Mia Navarro, the City of Tukwila's new Community Engagement Manager. Ms. Navarro is in the Communications Division of the Mayor's Office and will be working to expand communications between the City and the community. Some of the projects she will be working on include the Public Safety Plan, Tukwila International Boulevard, and job shadow /internship opportunities for local students. LTAC December 16, 2016 Meeting Page 2 Sounders FC Event — Business Relations Manager Brandon Miles provided the Committee with a recap of the Seattle Sounders FC event that was funded with approval by LTAC and the City Council earlier this month. The event entailed a fan sendoff at Starfire Sports on December 7 to wish the team well on their departure to Toronto to compete for the 2016 MLS Cup. Around 200 people attended and there was robust engagement on social media as well as coverage by local press. Lodging tax paid for shuttle service, police overtime, and operational costs at Starfire. Although Seattle hosted the official victory parade, a fan appreciation weekend is being planned in Tukwila. The cost of PD overtime for the December 7 event will be shared with the Committee. The Committee also asked for additional information on the possibility of installing signs or flags around the City to celebrate the Sounders victory. Day Marketing Update — Bill Baker of Total Destination Marketing will be in Tukwila in early January to conduct the stakeholder interviews. LTAC members have been invited to participate in interviews with Mr. Baker. Tentative Meeting Dates for 2017 — Business Relations Manager Brandon Miles asked the attendees if holding meetings on the Yd Friday of each month will continue to work in 2017. Those that were present said yes, and the absent members will be surveyed. Roundtable — Owen Leinbach suggested a future agenda item to evaluate the budget feasibility of a "hospitality ambassador" program in Tukwila similar to the one in downtown Seattle organized by the Metropolitan Improvement District. Brandon Miles thanked Council President Duffie for his leadership in 2016. Council President Duffie thanked the Committee for a successful year. Meeting adjourned at 10:41 a.m. • w .. m .
