Purpose
The new administration of the US
currently incites hate and shuts out
people of the world, therefore polarizing
the nation and our communities even
more.
We want to inspire students and people to
continue loving one another regardless of
race or gender. Despite this change of
leadership in our nation, we want to
maintain the love we have fostered in
'Tukwila.

What do students think of having a documentary of the
history of white America and the impact it has on students?
"I think a documentary of the history of white America and the impact
it has on students is a great ideal I think we should listen to
everyone's personal stories and their perspectives of life. l think it's
a great way to understand everyone better and become closer, even. It
sounds pretty cool." - Mariah Bolton, Junior.
"I think a documentary of personalized stories and different
perspectives of our own lives would be really interesting to see.
Kailany Chhay, Freshmen.
"Sounds good." = Jesus Flores, Junior.
"In my opinion it will change many things. It will make people aware
of the different problems that impact everyday lives in our high
school. Plus it will just add perspective for people in their lives.' -
Ramiro Ortiz, Junior.
"I think [the documentarvl is good for us because it helps us know
what the white American did [to] us." - David Chea, Senior.
What do you think of us having a documentary describing
personalized stories and different perspectives of your own
life?
"Definitely is a good ideal." - Shiloh Bowen, Senior.
d be [really] cool if people saw our lives cause like Mr. Kraght said
there's a bunch [of] people in foster that live hard lives but still have
to adhere to school and american life. " - Kobe Promvongsa, Junior.
1) We get this lesson from all of our Social Studies teachers so often
that we are comfortable with the subject. I feel that students would
see it as something normal to learn about and embrace their history.
2) We would have to go about it in a good way. We can't all be
Brandon from Humans of New York, but we all have potential to be as
open as his subjects. I think that we would potentially make it
anonymous, or only allow voiceovers as opposed to camera interviews
to make it more comfortable. Sharing is a bit difficult because sharing
requires trust, but if someone is made comfortable (atmosphere, how
questions are worded, if they can express themselves creatively) then
believe that trust can be earned." - Daniel Humkey, Senior.
