HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-05-10 - Call for Bids - Cascade View Safe Routes to School Phase IICITY OF TUKWILA CALL FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Tukwila, Washington at the Office of the City Clerk, in Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, Washington 98188, up to the hour of 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 for: CASCADE VIEW SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PHASE II PROJECT NO. 91510302 The Work to be performed within 80 working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for: Specific tasks shall include, but are not necessarily limited to: removing asphalt concrete and cement concrete pavements; providing all necessary traffic control labor and devices; providing temporary erosion /water pollution control; installing new storm drainage structures and pipes; installing new curb and gutters, sidewalks, driveway entrances, curb ramps; driveway and property restoration; paving with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA); mini - roundabout installation; adjusting surface utilities to grade; installing new channelization; and, other items necessary to complete the Work as shown on the Contract Documents. Each bid shall be in accordance with the bid documents available free of charge on -line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http: / /www.bxwa.com. Click on: "bxwa.com ", "Posted Projects "; Public Works "; "City of Tukwila ", and "Project Bidding ". Bidders are encouraged to "Register as a Bidder" in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of addenda and to be placed on the "Bidders List ". This service is provided free of charge to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors and Vendors bidding this project. Informational copies of any available maps, plans, specifications, and subsurface information are on file for inspection in the office of the Tukwila City Engineer, at the Public Works Department. All bid proposals shall be submitted according to the Information for Bidders and be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond made payable to the City of Tukwila, for a sum not less than five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit/bond shall be forfeited to the City of Tukwila. The City of Tukwila in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d -4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally- Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding and make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
