1 -2. Board discussed By -laws. Group supported first option for election of the Chair /Vice Chair- Jan Bolerjack and Jonathan
Joseph nominated as chair and vice, and seconded. All were in favor. Term ends December 31, 2017. First meeting of 2018,
Jonathan Joseph will automatically promote to Chair. The board will elect a Vice Chair yearly.
3. Board would like to invite Derek Speck, Economic Development Administrator and the E.D. Consultant for input on the
pending strategic plan. Goal for July meeting. Staff will invite. Board would also like to invite Joy Scott to speak this year.
4. Board chose Monday, July 10`n for next meeting from 4 -5:30
5. Requests continue to keep pace with previous years- however, from March to April we saw a 35% increase in calls.
6. Jonathan H shared that the district will hire a Family Support Specialist and Administrative Specialist to assist him with MV
kids. Plans are in place for a Birth to 3 Center at the district. YTD total MV kid's is 359.
Jonathan J suggested that the Chairs of the various city -wide boards, meet to see where alignment with goals can occur (discuss
possibility with Cheryl).
Members discussed learning more about `where' the HSAB fits into the org chart, who are internal/external partners (not just
funded agencies (IRC, Faith Based, District, other cities, KC). HS Infrastructure, understanding lateral communication, how is
HS funded, $50k increase temporary or on- going? Ideological goals; integration of HS and equity, how are they embedded in
the Comp Plan? What about education to boards and commissions?
Jan shared that RPUMC staff is working very hard to have the property empty of residents experiencing homelessness and
ready to sell in the next few months. Stay tuned for development, creative housing options and policies /procedures.
