Transpo will provide curb ramp design and construction plans for four (4) ramps at the
intersection of S 149th Street with 62nd Ave S, and two (2) ramps at the intersection of South
Center Parkway and the 1 -5 off -ramp. Curb ramp plans will be prepared to City of Tukwila
standards, as applicable, to be in general conformance with the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA). It is anticipated that a portion of existing curbing, pavement, and sidewalk will
need to be removed and replaced as a part of this work. It is also anticipated that a Maximum
Extent Feasible (MEF) document will be required at the intersection of 149th Street with
62nd Ave S due to the existing grades of the roadways.
Work not included in this scope includes survey, pavement design, major storm drainage and
utility modifications, and temporary traffic control. Transpo will perform field visits to
determine approximate limits of proposed ramps based on slope information. Since specific
elevation points will not be assigned in the curb ramp plans due to lack of topographic survey,
it is understood that the finished proposed curb ramps must be verified in the field during
construction.
Agency Support
• Orthorectified aerial images will be provided by the City.
