The Tukwila International Boulevard (TIB) Workshop builds on the years of work done to improve
this key neighborhood in Tukwila. From street improvements to the demolition of problem motels,
the community has made many positive and real changes on TIB.
This workshop kicks off the City's next effort in implementing the community's adopted vision and
goals for the TIB neighborhood. It is a unique opportunity to interact with local and national experts
who are coming to Tukwila to hear community members' ideas for the area and to share their
expertise on how to make the TIB corridor a vibrant neighborhood.
Examples of what may be addressed include:
• Changes to the Zoning Code such as types of uses, building heights, and parking requirements
• Changes to the Boulevard such as on- street parking, more traffic signals, less traffic lanes,
additional crosswalks or more landscaping
• Encouraging more public spaces such as parks /plazas, streets, walkways, recreation facilities and
sport courts
• Strategies to make the neighborhood feel safer
• Leveraging the City's Public Safety Plan and facility siting to improve the TIB neighborhood

The TIB workshop will result in a list of implementation strategies that will be presented to the
community in May. The City will then work with you on those strategies to continue our collaborative
work in improving this vital Tukwila neighborhood.
