TUKWILA URBAN CENTER PEDESTRIAN /BICYCLE BRIDGE
CITY OF
TUKWILA
The City of Tukwila in partnership with SB Structures,
LLC, is constructing a new pedestrian bridge over
the Green River. The 220 -foot long bridge has been
assembled on -site and will be set in place with three
cranes, two on the east side of the river and one on
the west side. Throughout this stage of construction,
traffic will be impacted with temporary nighttime lane
closures necessary for public safety. Everyone involved
is excited for this work to happen, but wants the public
to be aware of the construction activity and its dangers.
The City of Tukwila and SB Structures ask the public to
avoid driving in this area during lane closures and to
keep clear of the construction site during this process.

understanding and cooperation while we build
a new pedestrian bridge across the Green River.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Lane closures will be required for the construction activities taking place. Lane closures begin at 7:30 pm on
each of the impacted days lasting until 5:30 am the following day. July 9th 12th , and July 14th, traffic on north
and south bound West Valley Hwy between I405 and Strander Blvd, each direction will be reduced to one
dedicated lane for movement through the construction zone. July 13th traffic will be restricted to a single
lane with flaggers directing the traffic through the construction zone. This is the night the bridge will be
lifted into place. The expected traffic volumes are low, so we hope to minimize inconvenience to the public.
