A. Purpose. 1. The Growth Management Act (RCW 36.70A) requires protection of, critical areas (sensitive areas), defined as wetlands, watercourses, frequently flooded areas, geologically hazardous areas, critical aquifer recharge areas, fish and wildlife conservation areas, and abandoned mine areas.
