MOVED BY TRAYNOR, SECONDED BY VAN DUSEN, THAT COUNCILMAN SAUL ACT AS
CHAIRMAN OF THE MEETING IN THE ABSENCE OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT HILL.
CARRIED.
Chairman Saul called the Committee of the Whole Meeting to order at
7:05 P.M.
TRAYNOR, SAUL, VAN DUSEN, BOHRER.
Mayor Ed Bauch; Kjell Stoknes, OCD Director; John Sheets, Police Chief;
Hubert Crawley, Fire Chief; Mabel Harris, City Treasurer; Maxine
Anderson, City Clerk; John McFarland, Administrative Assistant; Dick
Williams, Office Engineer; Don Williams, Recreation Supervisor, Fred
Satterstrom, Planning Assistant; Al Pieper; Building Official.
Council President Hill arrived at the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
After considerable discussion the following priorities and goals
were established:
1. Undergrounding.
2. Street Development.

3. Interurban Corridor. Consider taking over Interurban Avenue,
making it attractive with plantings, to encourage business along
the street.
4. Computer adaptation. As the Fire Department uses their computer,
other Departments may find their work can be accomplished by use
of a computer.
5. Christensen Road.
6. Water storage.
7. Police Station /Recreation. When the new City Hall is completed and
the Police Station is located in that building, consideration will
be given to using present police station as a recreation center.
8. Restoration of old City Hall building. When the new City Hall is
completed, consideration will be given to restoring the old City
Hall building to its original design. Thought will be given to
location of a City Library in the old City Hall.
9. Golf Course.
