Kjell Stoknes requested $4,000 be moved from the Professional Services
account to Extra Labor to cover the EIS on the Zoning Ordinance.
MOVED BY TRAYNOR, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT PAGE 41 BE ACCEPTED
WITH THE SUGGESTED CHANGE. MOTION CARRIED.
Councilman Bohrer commented that he liked the list of department
objectives on Page 42 and encouraged other departments to do the same.
Page 47 Al Pieper discussed possible changes in custodial service once new
city hall is open.

SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED.
Don Williams explained the meetings the Park Commission held with the
Tukwila Seniors and the County Seniors on the use of the Thorndyke
Senior Center and whether to proceed with the project. Mayor Bauch
has deleted $850 for the sewer assessment for the Thorndyke site and
the federal grant $57,800 for remodeling the existing building.
MOVED BY SAUL, SECONDED BY TRAYNOR, TO ACCEPT PAGES 48 AND 49 LEAVING
THE THORNDYKE SENIOR CENTER PROJECT DELETED FROM THE BUDGET. MOTION
CARRIED.
Al Pieper, Building Official, read a statement requesting $7,000 in
the extra labor account for the part -time inspector and $2,000 in over-
time to allow him to do extra projects instead of hiring a full -time
inspector.
Mayor Bauch stated that he felt the amount allocated in the budget is
adequate.
Councilman Van Dusen stated that if it is necessary, then it should
be moved. Councilman Traynor stated that when it runs in the red,
the budget can be amended.

It was explained that $12,471 has been removed from the salaries and
wages in Recreation, and personnel will be paid this amount from the
Anti Recession Funds on Page 142. This is an allowed use for
these funds.

Discussion was held on the rotating of vehicles with the Police
Department as initiated last year. The purchase of a diesel vehicle to
be used by the Fire Chief was discussed. Councilman Bohrer expressed
concern in the purchase of a first model in a new line of auto, but
with the potential saving, approved buying it.

8 -5 BE APPROVED FOR PURCHASE, INCLUDING THE DIESEL VEHICLE. MOTION
CARRIED.
MOVED BY TRAYNOR, SECONDED BY VAN DUSEN, THAT P 8 -9 (1 CAMERA) AND
P 8 -10, (STORAGE BOXES) BE APPROVED FOR PURCHASE. MOTION CARRIED.

Discussion was held on replacing the weapons carried by the Police
Patrol. It was suggested that a program be started to replace a few
guns each year. Council decided to discuss this further at a later date

FOR PURCHASE.
Chief Crawley discussed the proposed use of the two used trailers. One
would carry clean -up equipment and the other for hauling flammable
liquids. When needed, they could be hooked to the truck and hauled
to the site. This would be time- saving as a truck would not have to
be loaded each time the equipment and supplies are needed.
MOTION CARRIED.
Discussion followed on the difference between 38's and 45's.

It was noted that the emergency aid vehicle is a replacement.

Mayor Bauch noted that no money was budgeted for program changes for
the L -5000. He felt $2,500 should cover this and requested it be added
to Non Departmental/ Miscellaneous, Professional Services on Page 56.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY TRAYNOR, SECONDED BY SAUL, TO APPROVE THE REQUESTED ADDITIONAL
CAPITAL EQUIPMENT ON PAGE 3. MOTION CARRIED.
Council President Hill announced the Mayor's Budget would be reviewed
at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
MOVED BY PESICKA, SECONDED BY SAUL, THAT COUNCIL GO INTO EXECUTIVE
SESSION TO DISCUSS THE PROPOSAL USTME HAS SUBMITTED TO COUNCIL. MOTION
CARRIED.
MOVED BY SAUL, SECONDED BY MRS. PESICKA, THAT THE EXECUTIVE SESSION
BE CLOSED. MOTION CARRIED.
