At approximately 6:20pm on Monday, September 4, 2017, Tukwila Fire Department was
dispatched to a "Residential Fire" in the 13500 Block of Interurban. As more calls to the
911 center came in, crews were rerouted to the 5700 Block of S. 130th Place in Tukwila.
Upon arrival, crews found a semi -tractor fully engulfed in flames. The truck was within 5
feet of a building. The building caught fire as well as a grassy area behind the semi.
The grass was also next to the railroad tracks. The railways were halted for a short time
while crews worked to extinguish the fire next to the tracks.
Tukwila was assisted by crews from Renton Regional Fire Authority, Puget Sound Fire
Authority, Burien Fire, King County Fire District 20, South King County Paramedics and
our Zone 3 Fire Explorers.
No civilians or firefighters were injured at the fire.
Fire Investigators are still at the scene to determine a cause. Total dollar loss has not
yet been determined by the investigators.
