HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 2545 - Recreational Vehicle and Trailer Parking in Residential Zones (TMC Code Section 9.20.090)City of Tukwila Washington Ordinance No. DsLts' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2494 §13, AS CODIFIED AT TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 9.20.090, TO UPDATE REGULATIONS REGARDING RECREATIONAL VEHICLE AND TRAILER PARKING IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila regulates the parking and storing of recreational vehicles on private residential property; and WHEREAS, Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC) Section 9.20.090, "Recreational vehicle and trailer parking in residential zones," references TMC Chapter 8.25 regarding the storage and parking of recreational vehicles on private property; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2518, which implemented low impact development requirements in the Zoning Code, eliminated TMC Chapter 8.25 and codified provisions relating to recreational vehicle storage on private residential property at TMC Section 18.56.065; and WHEREAS, TMC Section 9.20.090 should be updated to reference the appropriate section of the code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. TMC Section 9.20.090 Amended. Ordinance No. 2494 §13, as codified at Tukwila Municipal Code Section 9.20.090, "Recreational vehicle and trailer parking in residential zones," is hereby amended to read as follows: 9.20.090 Recreational vehicle and trailer parking in residential zones A. Application. This section shall apply to parking recreational vehicles and small trailers on City streets in residential zones. Recreational vehicles and small trailers may be parked on any City street, alley or public right-of-way in any residential zone in the City for a period of up to 24 hours. C. Recreational vehicles may be stored or parked on private property as specified in TMC Section 18.56.065. Section 2. Corrections by City Clerk or Code Reviser. Upon approval of the City Attorney, the City Clerk and the code reviser are authorized to make necessary corrections to this ordinance, including the correction of clerical errors; references to other local, state or federal laws, codes, rules, or regulations; or ordinance numbering and section/subsection numbering. Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or its application to any person or situation should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its application to any other person or situation. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five days after passage and publication as provided by law.
