The Police Department is the lead on this project. The purpose of this item on the July 19, 2011 agenda is to provide the Finance and Safety Committee with an update on the project status. RECOMMENDATION Information Only. 1 x City of Tukwila Jim Haggerton, Mayor INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor Haggerton Finance and Safety Committee FROM: Don Lincoln, Assistant Chief of Police DATE: June 29, 2011 SUBJECT: Crime Mapping Software ISSUE The Tukwila Police Department has been researching the feasibility of implementing a crime mapping software program suitable for public view. BACKGROUND The acquisition of a crime mapping software program has been on the Police Department's agenda for some time. Recently and with input from the Finance and Safety Committee, we have identified a vendor to provide such a program. The vendor is "CrimeReports" located in Draper Utah. DISCUSSION It has been confirmed through the IT department that they are ready to schedule the integration of this program, with a launch date targeted before the Night Out Against Crime event on August 2, 2011.
