CALL TO ORDER
MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
Special Meeting
October 9, 2017 — 7:00 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tempore Dennis Robertson called the Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at
8:51 p.m. directly following the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present were Councilmembers Joe Duffie,
Dennis Robertson, Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, Kate Kruller, Thomas McLeod.
MOVED BY DUFFIE, SECONDED BY SEAL TO EXCUSE THE ABSENCE OF COUNCILMEMBER
QUINN FROM THE MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
CITY OFFICIALS
Dennis Robertson, Mayor Pro Tempore; David Cline, City Administrator; Stephanie Brown, Human
Resources Director; Laurel Humphrey, Council Analyst; Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk.
EXECUTIVE SESSION — Collective Bargaining — Pursuant to RCW 42.30.140(4)(a) — 45 minutes
Mayor Pro Tempore Robertson announced the Council will now go into an Executive Session to discuss
Collective Bargaining — Pursuant to RCW 42.30.140(4)(a). It will last no longer than 45 minutes, and no
decisions will be made during the Executive Session. No action will be required in the Open Meeting
after the Executive Session has concluded.
8:52 p.m. Mayor Pro Tempore Robertson called for a brief recess to allow the Council to go to the
Hazelnut Conference Room.
Executive Session Start: 8:52 p.m.
Attendees: Mayor Pro Tempore Robertson; David Cline, City Administrator; Stephanie Brown, Human
Resources Director; Cabot Dow, Labor Consultant; Councilmembers Duffie, Seal, Hougardy, Kruller and
McLeod.
Executive Session End: 9:30 p.m.
9:33 p.m. Mayor Pro Tempore Robertson reconvened the Special Meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
9:33 p.m. THERE WAS UNANIMOUS CONSENT TO ADJOURN THE SPECIAL MEETING.
