Minutes for 7/13/17 and 8/10/17 meetings tabled due to lack of quorum
Chief’s update
Chief Villa announced he has accepted a job with the Port of Seattle Police
Department as a Deputy Chief. October 13 will be his last day here.
Still a bit down in staffing
Body cam program still in progress
Ten from TPD attended the Police/Fire games.
On Monday a City Council there will be a presentation at City Council
about this.
Recruiting Officer Masters put together a booth for recruiting and
officers who competed also worked the booth when not competing
and had expenses to LA paid by TPD.
Second largest sporting event in the world, 10,000 athletes from
around the world. TPD had the largest north American team.
Many officers expressed interest in joining TPD at the games and two
of the are being processed for hiring
International Law Enforcement Forum, what is it? Chief Villa has been a
member for about 12 year. It is a think tank to look at less lethal methods in
use and discuss plusses and minuses of each types. The produce a journal with
standards for manufacturers. They also work with the Marine Corps and a lot
of with Ireland.

The afternoon of October 12 will be the farewell for Chief Villa. Phi will send
out an invitation to COPCAB
