We have students out of class everyday in the cold and rain, taking time out of their classes who miss out on their education to go change the letters on the reader board. The man-hours saved by using modern technology will greatly benefit the students at Foster. Information about the school, community and activities need to be communicated as accurately and as quickly as possible. I was the Student Body President during the 94-95 school year. My involvement in the reader board project consisted of researching options to inform the community of school activities and events. We concluded that the reader board would best meet our needs and it was installed the following school year. I am in full support of improving the reader board and/or replacing it with something that will enhance school communication with the community. I do, however, believe that the reader board should remain a Foster High School reader board, not an advertising opportunity for the community or the school district. I wish you good luck in this school year and with the reader board upgrade. Please feel free to contact me if I may be of assistance in any other way. Cloverdale St. #C2 Seattle, WA 98108 On January 1, 2003, the City issued a sign permit for the installation of a freestanding sign at 4242 S 144th Street, Foster High School. On July 30, 2003, City staff went out to conduct an inspection of the sign and found that it had not been installed. Sign permits are only valid for six months. Since the work has not been completed the permit has expired. If you wish to install the sign at a later date a new permit must be obtained from the Department of Community Development prior to any work being performed.
