Dear Mr. Hansen:
Upon review of you application for a sign permit, the Community Development Department
cannot approve the permit as submitted.
1. The proposed wall sign area is too large. The business in question has a wall area of 1800
square feet. With this square footage the maximum permitted size for the wall sign is 74
square feet. The proposed sign is 94 square feet in area, which is too large. It is possible to
increase the maximum sign area of the wall sign. This is allowed for each doubling of the
required setback for the underlying zone. The front setback for this zoning district is 15 feet.
Thus, the building in question must be setback 30 feet to qualify for the increase. This will
require Special Permission from the Director of Community Development. The application
material is enclosed with this letter.
Please provide new plans that take into account the above comments. If you have any questions,

It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor
