Dear Brandon:
Per our telephone conversation, enclosed are 3 sets of Amended drawings showing the Food Mart
building sign 20 square feet. I placed a white dotted line around the 76 logo & Food Mart letters on the
building sign to calculate the square footage. The blue is a flat architectural panel.
I have also enclosed a check for $100 for the additional sign.
Please let me know when this permit is ready, so I can make arrangements to pick up and order sign
product.

This is in response to your letter dated 7/13/04. I was finally able to determine that my customer,
ConocoPhillips, has a lease with Seattle City Light to place the 76 freestanding sign on SCL property.
Enclosed is a copy of the letter they signed confirming their July 20, 1983 lease and authorizing change
of this sign. Also enclosed are 3 sets of Amended drawings for your review.
We made the changes requested in your letter. Please review and process this permit as soon as possible
and let me know amount of any additional permit fees ($484 was paid on 7/8/04).

At the above referenced location we are changing our sign image. Our signage currently sits on your
property that we have a lease with you dated July 20, 1983.
The city of Tukwila is requesting your approval for our sign image change. I have attached in Exhibit A
what the current actual sign looks like. In Exhibit B, the indicated image is what the new sign will took
like. You will notice that the image and color are the major changes.
If you could please sign the bottom of this letter and send it back to me in the enclosed pre -paid envelope.
Feel free to make a copy for your records. I will then forward onto the city of Tukwila and we will move

Dear Ms. Thomson:
The Department of Community Development received your sign permit application for new
signage for the 76 Gas Station located at 13310 Interurban Avenue South.
The application as submitted does not meet Title 19 of the Tukwila Municipal Code. The
two freestanding signs are currently legally non -conforming. Yet, the proposed work will
require that all signage come into conformance with City standards.
Section 19.30.030 (B) (1) of the Tukwila Municipal Code, address removal of non-
conforming signs, "Application for and issuance of a sign permit that complies with this
Code is required: For felocation, re -erection, alteration, replacement or change in any way
to a legal non -conforming sign -the structure or sign panel/face/copy..."
The application submitted will add new sign panels to both of the pole signs.
Sign A will be considered a freestanding sign and the sign must meet setbacks which are
one foot from all property lines for every foot in height. The proposed sign A is 20 feet
height, thus it must be 20 feet from all property lines. The sign permit application does not
have the setback distance listed. A review of the site map indicates that the sign does not
meet setbacks.
Also the site map submitted appears to be incorrect. Sign A appears to be located on.
property owned by Seattle City Light. Please verify the location of the sign. If the sign is
located on Seattle City Light property a letter from City Light must be submitted allowing
the gas station to use the property.
The sign area for Sign A is greater than what code permits. The maximum sign area for
Sign A is listed under TMC 19.32.160 (1) and is limited to a maximum of 150 square feet
for the total of all faces with no one face having an area greater than 75 square feet.

Sign D is considered a freeway interchange and the proposed sign must meet the standards
of TMC 19.32:180. Freeway interchange signs are permitted a total sign area of 250 square
feet and no one face may have a frontage greater than 125 square feet. Freeway interchange
signs do not have to meet the specific setbacks set forth in TMC 19.32.070.
The proposed Sign D will have two faces and have a total square footage of 288 square feet.
The site map notes that no changes are proposed to the signage on the food mart building.
The pending application will require that the site come into total conformance with the
City's sign code regulations, thus please provide drawings and/photos of any existing signs
on the building. Please also provide the square footage of these signs.
The application as submitted is incomplete and additional information must be submitted.
When you resubmit please enclose a cover letter addressing the items raised in this letter.

Dear Community Development Department:
Enclosed are 3 sets of drawings for a 76 image rebrand. We are replacing the existing canopy signs and
freestanding sign like for like, but with a different color scheme & rearrangement of face locations per
attached drawings. In lieu of a reface, we are proposing to replace the cabinet on the existing Hi -Rise
sign with a reduction in height and square footage.
Please review and process this permit as soon as possible and let me know what permit fees are due, if
any. If this site does not require a permit, I need that notation written on one set of drawings with your
signature and date for our files.
Also enclosed is a check in the amount of $484, representing the submittal fee for 4 signs ($100 each),
plus an $84 structural fee.

inspections. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take place before sign is
installed.
A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
