Street frontage of the entire premises where the sign will be located (feet). Generally, only
one freestanding sign is allowed per premises.

INSPECTIONS
If the sign needs structural review, the applicant or installer is required to call the Building Division at 431-3670 for footing or bracket
inspections. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take place before sign is
installed.
A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 fora final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION IS VALID FOR 180 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE.

RE: Macy's Furniture Gallery Signs (S05-019), Special Permission Application (L05-013)
Dear Mr. George:
The Planning Division reviewed your wall signage application (S05-019) and Special
Permission Application (L05-013) to increase the allowable square footage for the South
elevation sign (Sign #1). The application for Special Permission cannot be approved
because the sign does not meet City Code.
Sign #1 does not meet City Code because it is 277.46 square feet while only 150 square feet
is allowed. The Special Permission Application cannot be applied to Sign #1 because it
exceeds the allowable size even with Special Permission, which is 225 square feet. The
dimensions you originally supplied, 219 square feet, were incorrect and led the Department
to initially believe that Sign #1 would qualify for Special Permission.
However, you do have the option of reducing Sign #1 from its size of 277.46 square feet to
225 square feet. In order to receive the Special Permission sign permit, you must, within
two weeks from the date of this letter, submit revised drawings of the proposed sign that will
replace the existing one. Once the permit material is submitted, the Planning Division will
then make a final decision; please not that you can then appeal the decision to the Planning
Commission. If we do not receive the drawings by April 22, 2005, your sign permit for Sign
#1 will be denied.
Per the revised drawings you submitted on April 5, 2005, Sign #2 meets code and will be
issued a permit.
