(2) Only the vinyl lettering which displays the business logo, hours of operation, and contact information may be allowed on the window. Any additional lettering on the window of the business is not allowed, except on a temporary basis. This decision is based on TMC 19.32.140.A.2, which states that there may be "no more than one sign per business on any exposed building face", as well as TMC 19.12.050.A.14, which allows for window signs of a temporary nature which occupy less than 25% of the window surface. (3) The wall -mounted sign is larger than the maximum allowable area according to the provisions of TMC section 19.32.140. According to Table 1 of TMC 19.32.140.A, the maximum allowable area of a wall -mounted sign on an exposed building face of 255 square feet (SF) is 12.75 SF. The proposed sign area is 17.75 SF, which is a total of 5 SF, or 39%, over the maximum allowable area according to the area of the exposed building face. I have the following recommendations for you below: 1. Reduce the size of the wall -mounted sign by at least 5 SF to the maximum allowable sign area of 12.75 SF. This option requires that you resubmit drawings showing the new dimensions of the sign and its placement on the building face. 2. Apply for a Special Permission as a Type 2 Decision to increase the allowable sign area according to the provisions of TMC 19.32.140 and TMC 19.32.150. According to TMC 19.32.140, the maximum allowable sign area as provided in Table 1 may be increased up to "50% for each doubling of the required minimum setback distance for the wall upon which a particular sign is to be placed." Additionally, according to TMC 19.32.150, "the total allowed signage for any building face shall be equal to 6% of the exposed building face area on the signs are to be placed, up to a maximum of 500 square feet".
