Street frontage of the entire premises where the sign will be located (feet). Generally, only
one freestanding sign is allowed per premises.
Height of building (feet). Generally, signs may not be higher than the building with which they
are associated
Size of sign face (square feet). Structural review is required for pole signs with faces 30
square feet or more in area
Sign height (feet -inches). Structural review is required for signs 15 feet or more in height.
Distance from closest edge of sign to property lines (feet). Generally, signs must be set
back from all property lines a distance equal to their height.

INSPECTIONS
If the sign needs structural review, the applicant or installer is required to call the Building Division at 431-3670 for footing or bracket
inspections. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take place before sign is
installed.
A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION IS VALID FOR 180 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE.

Dear Mr. Miles:
I ani submitting to you a permanent sign permit application.
Enclosed, please find:
1. Permanent Sign Permit Application.
2. Check in the amount of $100.
3. 3 site plans which show the existing and proposed signs location.
4. Picture of the old sign "Bridal"
5. Pictures of the proposed sign for "Dentist" and "Law Offices"
As an explanation, there are "three awnings" existing on the west side of our
building (facing West Valley Highway). We will place the sign on two of the awnings,
one for "Dentist" and one for "Law Offices."
"Dentist" square footage is 6 ft X 12 ft, totaling 72 s.f.
"Law Offices" square footage is 6 ft X 12 ft, totaling 72 s.f.
In total, the square footage for the sign areas $144 s.f. Per our previous
conversation, I understand that this considered "one" sign for purposes of this
application.
I have asked a printing company to make the vinyl signs, and I will place it on the
building myself. There are no electrical, mechanical or structural changes to the awnings.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
