Dear Mr. Minar:
The City received your sign permit application on April 13, 2007 to locate a wall sign at 200
Andover Park West. The application was deemed complete for the necessary information to
begin review of the application on April 17, 2007.
A review of the application shows that the proposed sign area will not meet the applicable size
provisions for walls signs laid out in the Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC). The exposed building
face (EBF) where the sign will be located is 665 square feet. This EBF area would be permitted
to have a wall sign no greater than 31.6 square feet, thus the proposed sign of 48.75 square feet is
too large.
It may be possible to submit for special permission from the Director to increase the sign size 150
percent of the allowable sign area for every doubling of the required setback, up to a maximum of
six percent of the wall area. The require setback within the TUC is 15 feet. Thus this sign could
be as large as 47.4 square feet. A special permission application has been included with this
letter.
Please revise your sign permit application to address the comments noted in this letter.

INSPECTIONS
If the sign needs structural review, the applicant or installer is required to call the Building Division at 431-3670 for footing or bracket
inspections. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take. place before sign is
installed.
A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor an(
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
