Dear Mr. Park:
As I noted on the phone, the sign permit application needs to be amended to include the new copy
that was placed on the freestanding sign. Please include the following:
1. A site map showing the location of the existing sign in relation to all property lines;
2. Size of the sign face;
3. Sign height;
4. The total street frontage for the parcel where the sign will be located; and
5. A permit fee for $120.
The City has conducted a preliminary review of the proposed wall sign and it appears that the
sign as proposed does not comply with the City's sign code requirements. The permitted size of a
wall sign is based on the exposed building face (EBF) occupied by the business. You have noted
that the business has an EBF of 60 square feet. Title 19 only permits a sign to be 5 percent of the
wall area, thus the maximum permitted size would be three square feet. It appears that the front
wall has more area than is shown on the application. Please revise the application and the front
photo elevation to show the entire wall area.

INSPECTIONS
If the sign needs structural review, the applicant or installer is required to call the Building Division at 431-3670 for footing or bracket
inspections. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take place before sign is
installed.
A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION IS VALID FOR 180 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE.
