Mullet, Mayor Department of Community Development Steve Lancaster, Director December 6, 2007 Mr. Thad Firkens Young Electric Sign Cod 20100 SW 112t Ave Tualatin, OR 97062 RE: Sign Permit Application for Wendy's Notice of Incomplete Application, S07-087 Dear Mr. Firkens: The City has received your sign permit application for the Wendy's located at 15010 Tukwila International Blvd. Based upon the City's permit requirements the application has been found to be incomplete: Please provide the following: 1. Three copies of a site plan showing the location of property lines, streets, buildings and location of all existing and proposed signs. 2. Three copies of sign elevations with area calculations and dimensions. 3. Details on supporting structure and method of illumination. 4. One copy of a valid Washington State Contractor's license 5. Application fee in the amount of $120. Please note that the work that has been done on the sign will most likely not be approved. The City of Tukwila has a commitment to the removal of non -conforming signs along Tukwila International Blvd. Tukwila Municipal Code (TMC) 19.30.030 (B) states, "Application for and issuance of a sign permit that complies with this Code is required for relocation, re -erection, alteration, replacement, or change in any way to a legal non -conforming sign -the structure or sign panel/face/copy. Additionally, TMC 19.12.010 notes, "No sign, the message of which is discernible from the public right of way, adjacent properties, or adjacent business, shall hereafter be erected, re -erected, constructed, or altered, expect has provided by this code and a permit for the same has been issued by the City acting through its Planning Director..." 6300 Southrenter Boulevard_ Suite #100 • Tukwila. The City's Code Enforcement Division has recently mailed a Notice and Order to the property owner ordering the removal of the sign that has been altered. A copy of the Notice and Order was also sent to Dave Coleman with your company. If you believe that the City is in error regarding its interpretation of the sign code, the Notice and Order contains appeal information. Footing inspections must take place before concrete is poured. Bracket inspections must take place before sign is installed. A structural inspection is required for all signs when installation Is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection. It Is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries at (206) 248-6630.
