Dear Mr. Owen,
As you are aware, the mall's brand alliance sign permits were due to expire on September 14, 2009; however,
you brought to my attention that the sign installer has encountered a couple of issues that will slightly delay
installation.
I understand that the installation is now expected to be complete by September 30, 2009. If the signs are
installed according to the specifications outlined in the sign permits and a final inspection is called in by
September 30, 2009, then a new sign permit application will not be necessary. After that date, a new permit
will be required.
To schedule a sign inspection, please call our inspection line at (206) 431-2451 and enter the sign inspection
code 1510. Again, this inspection should be called in no later than September 30th

Subject: Westfield Mall Brand Alliance Signs
Nick and Andrew,
I went out to final the mall's brand alliance signs on August 7th and 1 of the 11 signs was still not installed, and
not all of the installed signs meet the size requirement of 288 square feet that was outlined in the development
agreement and sign permit. The sign permit will expire on September 14, 2009. We previously granted one
6 -month extension; however, there is nothing in our code which would allow us to grant a second extension.
If the signs are not installed according to the permit specifications by September 14, they will be in violation
of the City's Sign Code and the 2nd Amendment of the Development Agreement. After this expiration date, a
new permit application will be required and will be subject to another double fee since the signs were installed
prior to obtaining a permit. If this matter is not resolved through the permit process, it may be turned over to
code enforcement.

Dear Mr. Lee,
Your permit application for eleven brand alliance signs has been reviewed. The installed frame
sizes for the brand alliance signs on the Cascade and Olympic garages do not correspond to the
approved frame sizes per Development Agreement, DA07-003, 2"a Amendment.
Your permit has been issued to install the signs as approved per DA07-003. Where your
application shows 300 square foot signs, the permit has been modified to show 288 square foot
signs. The sign dimensions have been modified from 10' x 30' to 12' by 24'.
This permit expires in six months at which time an inspection will be conducted to verify that the
installed signs meet the conditions of DA07-003.

A structural Inspection Is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to call the Planning
Division at 431-3670 for a final inspection.
It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and Inspections from the Washington State Department of Labor and
Industries at (206) 248-6630.
