The Permanent Sign Permit Application requires all existing and proposed sign to be show on the site plan, along with there area calculation and dimensions. I conducted a site visit today, February 18th and noticed there are more signs on site than are shown on your application. Please address the comments that follow. There are several references to the Tukwila Sign Code, which can be found online at www.ci.tukwila.wa.us/clerk/tmc/titlel9.pdf. Temporary Signs We do not have a temporary sign permit on file for the temporary signs that are currently displayed on the east chain link fence. You will need to apply for a temporary sign permit or remove the temporary signs prior to the issuance of this permit. To comply with temporary sign regulations all temporary signs on site must not exceed a total of 64 square feet and there can be no more than two (2) temporary signs display at one time. The temporary sign permit allows signs to be displayed for 30 days and the permit can be renewed once every calendar quarter. (Please see Tukwila Sign Code section 19.24.010 "Area Restrictions".) Existing Wall Signs There are currently two wall signs on the building for which sign permits were never issued. These two signs are the Atlas Glass sign on the south wall and Safeco Insurance sign on the west wall. One of the two wall signs above may not need a permit if you can demonstrate it is 4 square feet or less. This is because Tukwila's Sign Code section 19.12.050(6) allows each site to have one non -illuminated wall sign, 4 square feet or less, without having to obtain a permit. Please revise your site plan to show the location, dimensions, and size of these existing signs and state whether you wish to add them to your sign application ($135 each), or if you wish to permit one and can demonstrate the one is 4 square feet or less, or if they will be removed. If they are to be removed, this will be a condition of the permit.
