If this were the case, we would fabricate a new sign cabinet the same size as the existing size (5'-0" x 6'-6") and mount the sign onto the existing concrete base. There may be a possibility to utilize the existing decorate cap piece on the existing sign or we will manufacture a new architectural element on the top per our conversation this morning. This would also mean that the new sign would stay in the same orientation/placement towards the two streets as the existing sign. The only issue I see that might be an issue is I am not sure if the existing sign meets the current setback requirements of the sign code as the overall height of the existing sign is 8'-0"/' Do you have the original sign permit file to check on that? If there is an issue, it may be possible to replace the existing non -conforming sign (because of setback) with the same size as long as there are no size & placement changes between the two signs. Please advise as soon as possible so we may be able to turnaround a revised design print for the planning commission meeting scheduled for next Thursday (the 28th). I have attached a couple of photographs of the sign & site in case you were not able to visit it yet.
