CALL TO ORDER: Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I.BUSINESS AGENDA
Sounders/S2 Family Night
A.
Staff updated the Committee on the S2 Family Night presented by the City of Tukwila at Starfire
Sports on September 9, 2017. The event was widely promoted and intended to be family
itors, and create a
branding experience. The event cost $15,115, less than the $25,000 originally awarded from the
lodging tax fund. DISCUSSION ONLY.
2018 Lodging Tax Preview
B.
Staff provided an overview of lodging tax and tourism related activities expected in 2018,
including:
Opening of Hotel Interurban/Airmark Apartments (formerly known as Washington
Place)
Opening of Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge
Major League Rugby Team, Seattle Seawolves, at Starfire Sports
Brand deployment, including wayfinding/signage opportunities and collaborative
advertising
Sounders Rave Green 5k Run
Firefighter Combat Challenge
50 Anniversary of the Southcenter District
