NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Tukwila City Council will hold a public hearing
on Monday, April 9, 2018 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Tukwila City
Hall, 6200 Southcenter Blvd., Tukwila, WA to consider the following:
Updating Accessory Dwelling Unit development regulations
including allowing detached ADUs, changes to lot size
requirements, parking requirements, design standards and
creating an amnesty program for existing unpermitted ADUs,
reflected in the following ordinance.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING VARIOUS
ORDINANCES AND TABLE 18-6, "LAND USES ALLOWED BY
DISTRICT," AS CODIFIED IN TITLE 18, "ZONING," OF THE
TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS
TO TITLE 18 PERTAINING TO ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT
REGULATIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
All interested persons are invited to be present to voice approval, disapproval, or opinions
on this issue. For those unable to attend in person, you may submit written testimony to the
City Clerk's office until 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Tukwila City Hall is wheelchair accessible. The City strives to accommodate people with

Among other updates the City Council is considering an amnesty program for existing unregistered ADUs
and limiting ADU rentals to 30 days or longer. There will be a public hearing to get community input on
possible changes on April 9th at 7:00 PM at City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Blvd. You are invited to attend,
speak at the hearing and submit your comments/questions to Nora.Gierloff@tukwilawa.gov.
