BACKGROUND
The Seawolves Rugby TEam has muueated fireworks permit for their 2018 5ea5un home
games, pursuant to RCW 70.77 and TMC 8.12.020(3). They will bC ash „ g pr,dimity type
fireworks, GalaAis Fla,,,c Units, Smoke Units, (1) artillery plate, Mine 75's and Mine iDi�'s Mese
are all proximity fireworks and ao not produce any fallout aetiris.
DISCUSSION
The Seawolves Rugby Team will be using the fireworks daring the opening ceremonies.
Starfire Sports is supportive of this request and has provided a letter of support.Starr Ras
reviewed tRe sutlmittea aocuments and noted that they make pruYiaiuna to Endure the smoke
from the smoke unity dues nut impede the Exit paths.

RECOMMENDATION
Marr recommends Mat Me application be approved at the April 16, 2018 council meeting.

i he Seawolves has applied fur a firewutk permit to utilize proximity fit:works as listed fa, select
home games Ellis season at St, fire Spurts stadium. There are 4 scheduled house games and an
undetermined number of potential post sert3on games. Starlit:. Sports has also provided a letter of
support for this permit at their stadium.
The Galaxis Flame Units emit a vertical column or flame ut, to 20' in height and will be used
doting the playe, intooductions (players will run between two units. The Smoke units produce
colored smoke that will teflecr the iea„t colors. (1) artillery plate, iviine 75-s and Mine 100's
these are alI proximity fireworks and du not produce any fallout debris. All these items arc
commonly used at 5pol Ling ai,d conce,i events.
The company preforming the show is PYRO & FIRE FX, LLC. The firm has supplied the
required application and certificate of insu,ance as required by RCW 70.77 and TMC 8.12 and
provided the current copy of the pyre technician's license.
I conducted research on rYRO & FIRE FX, LLC. They conduct special effects for a variety of
public sporting and concert venues within the State.
I have scheduled this firework permit for the Council MeetinE, Monday April 23, 2018. I have
contacted the City Clerks' Office to let them know of the short [hue frame for this approval.
