AMENDED BY: REPEALED BY: 285 292 ORDINANCE NO. 232 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA ANcTEXING PROPERTY TO THE TOWN OF TUKWILA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 128 OP THE SESSION LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON FOR 1945. WHEREAS under the provisions of chapter 123 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 a petition, in writing, asking for the annexation of certain property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, hereinafter more particularly described, has been filed with the Town Council, signed by the owners of not less than 75 per cent in value, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation, of the property for which annexation is petitioned, which petition sets forth a legal description ofthe property and was accompanied by plat or drawing, outlining the boundaries .the. property sought to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the Town Council has heretofore fixed June 29, 1959, at the hour of 7. :40 P.M., in the. Council Chambers in the Town Hall, Tukwila, Washington, as the time and place for public hearing upon such petition, and a -copy of "said notice was published in the Seattle T.imes,_a legal newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Tukwila; and was posted in three public places within the territory proposed-for annexation, which notices specified the time and place of such hearing and invited interested persons to appear and voice approval or disapproval of the annexation, and WHEREAS, at the time and place set for said hearing, the Council approved tb.e petition for annexation' and set midnight, July 4, 1959, as the effective date of annexation, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL of TUKWILA, as follows SECTION- 1. That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 128 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 the following described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, to-wit: A portion of the North 2 of the Southwest i of Section 24, Township 23 North, Range 4 East W.M. Beginning at the intersection of the Southwesterly margin of Pacific Highway, now known as secondary State Highway No. 1 -L, with the centerline of +Yhite River, also known as Green River; thence Southeasterly along said centerline (which is contiguous to the Southeasterly limits of the Town of Tukwila) to intersect the Southwesterly margin of the Chicago, Milwaukee ana St. Paul Railway Right of Way; thence Southeasterly along said tight of Way to the Northerly margin of Nelson Place; thence Southwesterly and Southerly along said Northerly margin, and said Northerly margiri produced Southerly, to the Southerly margin of South 153rd Street} thence Easterly along said Southerly margin to the North- westerly margin of State Highway No. 5 -M night of Way line; thence Southwesterly along said Highway Right of Way to the most South erly corner of that certain tract of land conveyed to Taylor Campbell et tux by deed recorded in volume 2312 of deeds, page 533 said point being on the Easterly margin of the Seattle Tacoma Puget Sound Right of Way; thence in a straight line to a point on the Southwesterly line of said State Highway No. 1 -L, a distance of 470.01 feet Southeasterly from the Easterly bank of said River as measured along said Highway; thence Northwesterly along said Southwesterly margin of State Highway No. 1 -L to point of beginnin, shall be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Tukwila. SECTION 11. The said annexation shall be effective on and after midnight; (huly 4, 1959, and from and after said date property shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the Town of Tukwila theh and thereafter in force.
