REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN SERVICES
Submittals due by September 2. 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
The City of Tukwila is seeking Statements of Qualifications for landscape architecture
and design services. The design will focus on creating a conceptual plan that will
incorporate a two acre parcel to the west of the Duwamish Hill Preserve into the existing
Preserve. The design will be used as a tool in a grant application in efforts to acquire the
two acre parcel. The design will include an engineered wetland, trail system, landscaping
and native wetland plant lists, including native plants preferred by the Muckleshoot
Indian Tribe's Cultural Resources Department. The design must be similar in focus to
that defined in the existing Duwamish Riverbend Hill Master Plan.
Completion deadline of the requested design is Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.
in efforts to be included in the grant application.
Statement of Qualifications must be no more than twenty (20) pages in length and should
include the following:
Qualifications of the firm to work on a historical, archeological, culturally
significant site and plant list.
A list of projects for which the firm has worked on that are historical,
archeological, and culturally significant sites.
A list of projects for which wetland design services and native plant lists were
conducted for other jurisdictions together with contacts at those agencies.
Additional services related to wetland and landscape design.
A compensation schedule including the rate or method of compensation for
services.
The City will adhere to the following timetable: Issue RFQ on August 18, 2011 with a
deadline for electronic submittal of responses to the RFQ on September 2, 2011 at 5:00
p.m. All responses shall be sent electronically to:

The City of Tukwila will review the Statements of Qualifications and the most qualified
firm will be selected. Interviews may be conducted of the top firms.
