Admin Update:
• Continuing- Olena is continuing Access Volunteer Database
• Work has started on a city webpage for Green Tukwila Partnership
Volunteer Update:
• Green Tukwila Partnership has no schedule work parties for July or August
Partner Update:
Staff met onsite with partners at multiple parks to discuss professional crew days for the
remainder of 2018.
• EarthCorps will be injecting Knotweed and English Laurel in August on the upper part of
Crystal Springs.
• Forterra will book professional crew days to consolidate green waste and possibly
continue EarthCorps injection site (if needed) at Crystal Springs.
• Student Conservation Association (SCA) will have 2 weeks of youth crew days with
Seattle youth teams at Tukwila Park in August. The first week will be cleaning ground ivy
behind the horseshoe pits at Tukwila park on the slope. SCA's second week will be a
focus on cutting established tree rings on the hill at Tukwila Park to preserve the Big
Leaf Maples and the established tree canopy.
