Council President Seal called the meeting to order and asked each Councilmember to introduce themselves.
Attendees, Councilmembers and staff had a roundtable discussion about a variety of topics. Comments from and
questions from attendees included the following:
The City should provide a gathering space for middle/high school aged youth.
Senior programming and physical space at the Community Center has been greatly reduced and we dont feel
as welcome.
It is disappointing that senior lunch was reduced to one day per week.
Wii Bowling went away due to not enough participation.
Will the new SHAG housing impact senior services?
Could there be a shuttle between TCC and the library?
Metros Community Connections program will be looking at transportation alternatives.
The City is embarking on a Senior Needs Assessment with funding from the County.
What can the City due to reduce tent camping?
Needles and sanitation are a major concern.
Who is responsible for watching over and protecting homeless youth?
Consider a senior advisory council.
Neighbors should look out for one another, particularly seniors so that they can stay in their homes as long as
possible.
Representatives from Council, School District, and community could meet to kickstart momentum on a good
neighbor campaign.
Community Center should have a mailbox inside the building.

Happy with the 42 Avenue South project.
Older residents experienced with gardening and horticulture should mentor youth who are interested.
Backyard Wildlife Festival/Art show should not be on Mothers Day weekend.
Tukwila should have a community summer celebration besides Night Out against Crime.
Appreciates that Council meetings are in the evenings.
Appreciates this opportunity to meet with the Council and would like to see it happen more than once.
