HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0278 - Green River / Pacific Highway Annexation ORDINANCE NC. 278 _1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWS OF TUKWILA AMENDING SECTION ONE (IF ORDINANCE NO. 273 OF THE TO-.,N OF TUI ILA WHEREAS, heretofore on the 14th day of April, 1959, Ordinance No. 273 was adopted by the Council of the Town of Tukwila, which said ordinance annexed certain property to the Town, and WHEREAS, when said Ordinance was submitted to the County Engineer and County Assessor it became apparent that a better des- cription of the area annexed could be used, and whereas upon conferences between the Engineer for the Town of Tukwila and said r1 county officials such new description has been agreed upon, and 4 whereas said new description does not in any manner change the area annexed to the Town but is merely a more accurate and compre- hensive description of the area as shown upon the sketch attached to the. Petition for Annexation. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of Tukwila as follows; SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 273 reading as follows: "That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 123 of the Session Laws of th_e State of Washington for 1945 the following described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, to -wit: Beginning at a point on the Westerly bank of the Green River, which is the present Easterly limits of the Town of Tukwila, at its intersection With the Westerly extension of the Northerly line of the South 990 of the Southeast 4 of the Northwest of Section 25, Township 23 North, Range 4 East W.M.; thence lortherly along said River bank in said Section 25 and in Section 24, Township 23 North, Range 4 East W. N. to an intersection with a line which bears South,35 West from the most Northerly corner of that certain tract of land conveyed to Anker Andersen and Rose Andersen, known as Tax Lot #40, saidcorner being a point on the Southerly margin of the Pacific Highway now known as highway No. 1 -L. Thence Southeasterly in a straight line to the most Southerly corner of that certain tract of land conveyed to Taylor Campbell and Hilda Campbell., husband and wife, by deed recorded in Volume 2312 of Deeds on page 533, under Auditor's File No. 3450463, records of King County, being the intersection of the Easterly 41 margin of the right of way of the old Seattle- Tacoma Puget wound Electric gailroad with the Northerly margin of the overpass on Secondary State highway No. 1-L, (known as Renton Junction Way); thence Easterly along said margin to an intersection with the West- erly margin of the Joint Northern Pacific and Great Northern 1 ail way Company, right of way; thence Southerly along said Westerly margin to the North line of the mow Eake Pipe Line as described in deed to the City of Seattle, recorded April 27, 1951, under Auditor' File No. 4131067, records of King County; thence West along said North line to the Easterly margin of Secondary State Highway No. 5 -M (West Valley Road); thence Southerly along said margin to a point which is due East of the point of beginning; thence due West to the point of beginning; shall be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Tukwila.", be and the same is hereby repealed and re- enacted as follows: "SECTION 1. That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 12u of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 the following described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, to-wit: A portion of Sections 24 and 25, Township 23 forth, Range 4 East W.M. Beginning at a point on the Westerly bank of the Green River which is the present Easterly limits of the Town of Tukwila, at its intersection with the Westerly extension of the northerly line of the South 990 feet of the Southeast of the Northwest of Section 25, Township 23 North, Range 4 East W.M.; thence Northerly along said River bank in said oection 25 and in Section 24, said Township and Mange to a point which is the South- westerly Production of the Southeasterly line of a parcel of land conveyed to Anker Andersen and nose Andersen, recorded in Volume 1389 of Deeds, page 312, records of King County; thence North 28°05'00" East to the most Easterly corner, of said Andersen property said corner being a point on the Southerly margin of the Pacific Highway, now known as Highway No. 1 -L; thence Southeasterly in a straight line to the most Southerly corner of that certain parcel of land conveyed to Taylor Campbell and Hilda Campbell, husband and wife by Deed recorded in Volume 2312 of Deeds, page 533 Records of King County, being the intersection of the Easterly margin of the right of way of the old Seattle Tacoma Puget Sound Electric Rail- road, with the Northerly margin of Highway No. 1 -L right of way line (known as Renton Junction Way); thence Easterly along said margin to an intersection with the Westerly margin of the Joint Northern Pacific and Great northern Railway Company, right of way; thence Southerly along said Westerly margin to the North line of the bow Lake Pipe Line, as described in deed to the City of Seattle, recorded under huditor's File No. 4131067, records of King County; thence West along said North line to the Easterly margin of Secondax State Highway No. 5 -M (West Valley Road); thence southerly along said margin to a point which is 990 feet North of and parallel with the South line of the Northwest 4 of said Section 25; thence West to the point of beginning, shall be and the same hereby is annexed to the Town of Tukwila. SECTION This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law. PASSED this 8th day of June., 1959. Lois T.
